North Area Counties of Kentucky Exposition of Science

** JUDGING CRITERIA**
(Subject to change)

1. Creative Ability (10 points)

Does the project show creative ability and originality in the question asked; The approach to solving the problem; use of equipment; interpretation of data?

2a. Scientific Thought (15 points)

Is the problem stated clearly? Is the problem sufficiently limited? Was there a procedural plan? Were controls used? Are there adequate data?

OR
2b. Engineering Goals (15 Points) Is there a clear objective? Is the solution workable? Is the solution and improvement over other alternatives? Has the solution been tested for performance?

3. Thoroughness (15 points)

How completely has the problem been covered? Are the conclusions based on a single experiment or on replication?

4. Skill and Clarity (10 points)

Does the student have the laboratory, computation, observational, and design skills necessary to complete the project?
